Hello. I'm David.

I am a semi-amatuer photographer and a quasi-professional artist.

I was born in America in the deep Midwest and currently live in Great Britain in the deep South East.

My art style is mostly surreal and hallucinatory but mainly I rely on stream-of-consciousness style methodology. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool physicalist who nonetheless is fascinated with things like trance-states and other borderline metaphysical no-nos.

Art for me is a style of walking down the street. It is the 7th sense. It is the synthesis of all the other senses brought to bear on the material world. Art is a stance. Sometimes a battle surge sometimes a retreat. Art is part cowardice.

Art is will in that it wants to contribute to the biomass of aesthetics. A one-upmanship of beauty with no winners or losers.

Art can be a magnifying glass powered by the horror and beauty of life that the self captures, reprocesses and excretes as creativity. Creativity befriends death.

Art is a way to show off the fact that you're talented or perhaps to show that you've got a long way to go. Nothing is wrong with either.

Art is the secretion of evolution.
